We have one more class still coming up this Winter session and it's a 4-week beginning on-camera class for Commercials. If you're looking to dip your feet and try this out, this class would be a safe space to begin! Class begins soon on Feb. 24th!

Auditions Announced for Performance Playhouse

1st round of Auditions for our Summer 2010 Performance Playhouse, directed by Janet Louer, are set for Sunday, March 21st from 2:30-6:00 PM.

This four-week intensive challenges the committed musical theatre student. Under the direction of Director/Choreographer Janet Louer, the ensemble will rehearse, and workshop full-length popular musicals (RENT or SPELLING BEE). Performance Playhouse focuses on the actor's elements of the production: acting, singing, and dancing.

Students should prepare two 16-bar cuts (about 30 seconds each) of two songs similar in style or a character from each or either show that they may be interested in (RENT or SPELLING BEE).

ACTING THE SONG
for the adult performer

Tuesdays, 6:30-9:30 PM
Feb. 22nd - March 16th

Musical theatre performances are made powerful due to the acting skills employed while singing. This class explores how to approach a song from an actor's point of view, and then fuse the music with the words. You will discover what musical material suits them best.

Instructor: Janet Louer is a freelance Casting Director Janet was a Casting Associate in New York for film and television and worked at TNI casting Broadway Shows such as Elizabeth Taylor's LITTLE FOXES, WEST SIDE STORY and Sandy Duncan's PETER PAN. Ms. Louer has won a Joseph Jefferson Citation and has choreographed National Tours.

Winter classes are officially underway!

We have just two more Adult classes (Commercial Technique or Acting the Song...a music theatre acting class) starting on Feb. 22nd. See them here!

And there is our upcoming Actors' Expo day on March 20th - a full day of workshops, lectures, and mock auditions to prepare yourself for a career in the performing arts. Great for new and returning students!

Come laugh with your kids as the hit ComedySportz children's show comes to The Wilmette stage to make your child a star! The show features child-sized versions of critically acclaimed short-form improv games hosted by a ComedySportz Kidz Coach. Over the 50 minute show, the Kidz Coach will take the children on the journey of their dreams, from watching a ComedySportz show to being in it! Of course, some kids will just want to watch, and they'll have a great time, too!
